Meskwaki freshman Bree Scabbyrobe has made school history becoming just the second runner ever from Meskwaki Settlement School to qualify for the Iowa High School State Cross Country Championships.
Bree earned her spot at last week’s Class 1A District 7 meet in Jewell with a time of 20:59.4, finishing 10th overall and securing the final qualifying position.
Bree’s journey from middle school standout to state qualifier has inspired her teammates, coaches and the entire community. She now follows in the footsteps of Shye Johnson, Meskwaki’s first-ever state qualifier in 2020, continuing a proud and growing legacy for Meskwaki runners.
The state meet will be Saturday, November 1, at Lakeside Municipal Golf Course in Fort Dodge.
Join us in congratulating Bree and wishing her the best as she represents the Meskwaki Warriors at State!
