Reading Competition for 1st & 2nd grade

First and second grades did a reading competition the last few weeks. Each student had to read a book at their level, take and pass at 80% an AR test and complete a paper with their opinion on the book. They had an overwhelming response. Students successfully read, completed the AR at 80% and wrote their opinion on 226 books! Their teachers are so proud of our readers! The second grade classes tied with 78 books read per class. Second grade had pizza as a reward for all their hard work. Mrs. Clapper’s class put up a hard fight, completing 63 books. Students worked so hard! They had cookies and apples slices as a reward! Their opinion pages are posted in the hallway.
