Due to a spike in the number of students testing positive for COVID-19, and the number of students exposed and assigned to quarantine, we are switching to virtual instruction for the rest of this week (Th & F) and all of next week. We will return to in-person instruction on Monday, January 24. We will follow the same schedule and procedures for virtual instruction that we followed during our two-week period of virtual instruction last October. Meskwaki students in Kindergarten through 8th grade showcased their musical abilities by hosting a Holiday Music Concert on Friday, December 17th. Singing songs like Jingle Bells and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, the concert was livestreamed and many family and friends attended. The 3rd and 4th graders performed a play called “How the Penguins Saved Christmas”. 5th and 6th grade as well as the 7th and 8th grade bands also played. Our first basketball games of the season are scheduled for November 22. This year there will be no limit on the number of fans who attend a game, but we are still requiring masks. The concession stand will operate this year. New basketball shirts have been printed up for fans; here is a photo: The shirts will be available starting November 22 at the school store, by the concession stand. There is a limited supply and the store will only be open during the games.

Good afternoon, MSS!   We will return to in-person instruction this Monday, October 25th, at the Meskwaki Settlement School. Buses will run at the normal times and classes will begin at 8:30. On Wednesday next week, early dismissal will be at 2:00 p.m. We would like to remind you that masks are required at school, and that includes school buses. Please remind students to put on their masks before getting on the school buses. We are looking forward to seeing the students again on Monday.  Have a great weekend!
